My Sandy Skoglund Piece
Her style is seemed to be about indifference and variety. I’ve never seen photography portrayed this way and she did an amazing job with lighting my interest in her style of work. Personally my favorite creation of hers is called “Revenge of the Gold fish”.
Eric Johansson: Ted Talk
This Ted Talk was about his revelations in his photography style. Where it came from; his new camera techniques and why he felt the need to use it in a certain way than he was using it before. He now feels like photography is about being at the right place at the right time; normal activities but with a unique twist only the photographer is able to tweak. That is what he felt like photography was meant to be. Realistic images; capturing an idea not necessarily a moment.
Photography is also about combining different realities and there are 3 different rules to follow in doing so. The first rule is photos combined should have the same type of light. The second is about making it impossible to disguise where the images begin and end; seamless and unknown to composure by audience. While, the third rule is that photos combined should have the same perspective. Even so knowing this being a good photographer takes time and months of planning. Editing of course is apart of this final product job.
He then comes to an end in his talk and reminds us that our imagination is the limiting factor when it comes to not only taking , editing, but also with composing a realistic picture. If you follow the rules and maintain his mindful process it shouldn’t be hard at all to adapt to his style of shooting.
HDR Landscape
This is my HDR image and personally I believe it is a pretty ruff image. Some areas need smoothing and they’re certain areas in this image that may have been edited to much to some degree. Even then I really like the HDR landscape image I captured on my way home from going out to eat. W e were close by the beach and the sun was setting. It was simply the perfect timing for such image. Not only does it capture elements on lighter toned areas, but shows the beauty in the darker toned areas too! The blue to pink Ombre was also a detail I tried my best to highlight and maintain in this image. I feel as if I need more practice with this type of editing, but none the less it was a nice new creation to add to my collection of images.
